James holds a B.F.A. in Theatre from Southwestern University, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Austin College. He has taught Theatre Arts in public and private schools for over 20 years. 

He has directed over 60 plays and musicals for high school, community and professional theatres and is the author of 17 plays plays that have been performed in 32 states and 9 countries.
